The Congregation was born out of the spiritual experience of our Founder during his studies in Massachusetts, Tysborough, USA in the year 1986.
The Marist Daughters of Jesus the Good Shepherd is a female religious Institute founded by Bro. Thomas Ezzeaku FMS, a Marist Brother of the Province of Nigeria. The Congregation was born out of the spiritual experience of our Founder during his studies in Massachusetts, Tysborough, USA in the year 1986.
The Institute was canonically inaugurated on January 27th 2001 in Idah Diocese, Kogi State, Nigeria by late Bishop Ephraim Silas Obot, the then substantive Bishop of Idah Diocese. Today our sisters are in different Dioceses of the country and outside the country with our sisters from different cultural and national backgrounds.
We are a religious Institute founded by Bro. Thomas Ezzeaku FMS of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. We are founded in Idah Diocese, Kogi , Nigeria in the year 2001. Our Charism is witnessing the love of Christ with all.
Our Mission is receiving the fullness of life from Christ and sharing it out with all. Thus, we propagate the unceasing maintenance of the Presence of God. Our primary Apostolate includes the Education of the children and the youths, Catechism, Pastoral Work, Health Care and any other needs of the Local Church in line with our Charism.
To be admitted into the Marist Daughters of Jesus the Good Shepherd, the following are the basic requirements:

5 credits including English and Maths
Must be physically fit
Must be between 18-25 years

Sowing and nurturing seed of life in the young and the helpless.
